You have 5-10 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, demonstrating solid technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Your hands-on experience includes participating in upgrades and migrations, ensuring that you are well-versed in the latest PostgreSQL releases and best practices. You are motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects, showcasing your ability to multi-task across various clients and projects.

Your expertise in performance tuning and maintenance ensures that customers have appropriate backups, index maintenance, and routine vacuuming in place. You are flexible and willing to work in rotational shifts, adapting to the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to advise customers on hardware and licensing questions effectively.

What you'll do

As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA at Navisite, you will be responsible for deploying and managing large environments, providing hands-on technical expertise to ensure optimal performance. You will advise customers on best practices and assist them with hardware and licensing inquiries. Your role will involve maintaining documentation of processes and procedures, ensuring that all tasks are logged and updated within 24 hours.

You will participate in upgrades and migrations, ensuring that customers are kept informed throughout the process. Your responsibilities will also include implementing and supporting log shipping, failover solutions, and replication, which are critical for maintaining data integrity and availability. You will continue to learn new skills as the technology evolves, keeping your knowledge up to date with the latest PostgreSQL developments.
