You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated the complexities of distributed systems. Your expertise includes designing and implementing distributed backend systems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and performant.

Deep knowledge of Java and Python is essential — you've shipped high-throughput APIs and understand the nuances of service architecture, testing strategies, and deployment processes. You are comfortable working closely with infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to deliver robust solutions that meet business needs.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability. Your experience includes participating in technical design discussions and mentoring other engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Nebius AI, you will design, build, and operate backend services that are critical to our cloud infrastructure. You will own services end-to-end, from architecture and development to testing, deployment, and production support. Your role will involve improving system performance, reliability, and observability, ensuring that our infrastructure can support the demands of the AI economy.
