Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in designing and implementing scalable systems. Your expertise includes building RESTful and gRPC APIs that power both internal and external applications, ensuring they are robust and efficient.
You possess deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and have experience architecting microservices using Kubernetes. Your understanding of modern DevOps practices allows you to deploy applications seamlessly and maintain high availability.
You are familiar with data pipelines and have experience in managing data flow within distributed systems. Your ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance is second nature, and you thrive in environments that challenge your technical skills.
You are a strong communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. You enjoy mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
Desirable
Experience with machine learning and AI technologies is a plus, as Plume leverages these to enhance their service delivery platform. Familiarity with smart home technologies and IoT systems will also be beneficial in this role.
What you'll do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Plume, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable APIs that support our service delivery platform. You will work closely with product managers and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
You will architect and deploy microservices in cloud environments, ensuring they are resilient and can handle high traffic loads. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to uphold quality standards across the team.
You will also be involved in optimizing data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing and storage solutions that align with our platform's needs. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience for millions of customers worldwide.
Collaboration is key in this role; you will partner with teams across the organization to integrate new features and improve existing functionalities. You will participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives to continuously improve team processes.
