Who you are

You are an up-and-coming Houdini technical artist with a proactive mindset and excellent communication skills. You have a passion for problem-solving and are eager to learn in a collaborative environment. While 6 months of experience in an animated or VFX feature is desirable, it is not a strict requirement. Your familiarity with Houdini and experience with cloth, fur, and feather tools will be beneficial in this role. Additionally, experience using Linux in a production environment is preferred, as it will help you navigate the technical aspects of the job.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work closely with the CFX supervision team and pipeline TDs to identify and debug common issues that arise during production. You will troubleshoot animation delivery problems, suggest workarounds, and implement fixes as needed. Your responsibilities will include testing and validating new releases of Houdini CFX rigs, assisting CFX artists with day-to-day issues, and escalating unresolved problems through the appropriate channels. You will also contribute to the technical workflow for the CFX department, ensuring that processes are efficient and secure. Creating and updating documentation that supports CFX processes will be part of your duties, as well as establishing strong partnerships with Animation and FX staff and other TD groups.
