Netflix is hiring a Performance Technical Director to support creative and visual objectives through pipeline troubleshooting, user support, and tool development. You'll contribute technical expertise to the design and development of artist workflows and tools. This role requires a strong technical understanding of processes and technology within animation.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a technical expert with a deep understanding of processes, technology, and tools within Rough Layout, Animation, and Final Layout. You have experience advising Lead TDs and Supervising TDs on the future technical direction of key projects, ensuring high-quality technical outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with craft groups and R&D teams to enable standardized approaches across projects.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and are adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues. Your ability to suggest new technologies and design procedures that meet visual requirements is a key asset. You are committed to maintaining high-quality code and ensuring that the technology within the Performance Department evolves effectively.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the direction and maintenance of technology within the Performance Department, providing technical expertise and guidance for all related technology. You will design, develop, and write well-maintainable code while tracking and resolving complex technical issues in partnership with your team. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and efficiency of the animation production process, enabling artists to achieve their creative visions.
You will also be responsible for collaborating with various teams to ensure that the technical solutions you implement align with the creative goals of the projects. Your role will involve continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies, ensuring that Netflix Animation Studios remains at the forefront of the industry.
