What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality UI components that form the backbone of Netflix's Commerce Design System — your work will involve creating accessible and performant components that enhance the user experience across various platforms. You will collaborate closely with System Designers and Product Design leadership to define and set the strategic direction for the design system, ensuring that it meets the needs of both internal developers and external users.

You will leverage your expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React to build reusable component libraries that are easy to integrate and maintain — your focus will be on delivering production-ready components that adhere to best practices in accessibility and performance. Additionally, you will explore the integration of AI-driven tools into the development workflow, enhancing the efficiency of both your team and the users of the design system.

As part of a new team, you will have the opportunity to shape the foundational elements of the design system from the ground up — your contributions will directly impact how Netflix's Commerce business engages with its audience and delivers a seamless user experience. You will also participate in defining the roadmap for future enhancements and iterations of the design system, ensuring it evolves to meet changing user needs and technological advancements.
