Who you are

You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in the context of robotics and medical devices. Your experience includes designing and integrating complex electronic systems, and you are comfortable with both hardware and software aspects of engineering. You possess a solid understanding of embedded systems and have worked with technologies such as Embedded Linux, Altium Designer, and MATLAB. Your proficiency in programming languages like C and C++ allows you to contribute effectively to the development of custom electronics systems. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take on challenges that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with robotics and automation in a medical context is a plus. Familiarity with safety systems and compliance standards in medical device development will set you apart. You are also encouraged to bring any additional skills in programming or hardware design that could enhance the team's capabilities.

What you'll do

As an Electrical Engineer on the Surgery & Robotics Hardware Team, you will be responsible for designing, verifying, and overseeing the transition to production of various custom electronics systems. This includes working on the development of surgical robotics and ensuring that all electrical engineering aspects of the devices are optimized for performance and safety. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate technologies such as vision systems and power electronics into the surgical robotics. Your role will also involve conducting bring-up testing and supporting the manufacturing of custom consumables, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

You will have the opportunity to own creative projects and contribute to the design of innovative solutions that enhance the capabilities of neurosurgical implants. Your work will directly impact the future of neurosurgery, as you help to create devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. You will be expected to stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and develop new solutions.
