Who you are
You are a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in corporate governance and compliance. With at least 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, you have a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks that govern financial technology companies. You thrive in complex environments and are adept at navigating the intricacies of corporate law, ensuring that all governance matters are handled with precision and care.
Your experience includes overseeing board meetings and approvals, and you are familiar with the requirements for maintaining compliance across various jurisdictions. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide legal guidance that aligns with business objectives. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to mitigate risks and enhance governance processes.
Desirable
Experience in M&A, fundraising, equity, IP, and employment law would be advantageous. Familiarity with the payments industry and its regulatory landscape is a plus, as is a track record of working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead corporate governance matters for Niumβs global subsidiaries, ensuring that all entities are managed in compliance with local regulations. You will prepare and coordinate board meetings, manage approvals, and oversee the governance requirements associated with Nium's regulatory licenses. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting strategic legal projects, including mergers and acquisitions, fundraising efforts, and intellectual property matters.
You will collaborate closely with Niumβs Global Head of Corporate and Commercial Legal, contributing to a high-impact legal team that plays a vital role in the companyβs growth and innovation. You will be responsible for identifying legal risks and providing solutions that support Nium's mission to deliver cutting-edge payment solutions globally. Your ability to think strategically and provide sound legal advice will be essential as you help shape the future of Nium's governance framework.
