Nium is hiring a Senior Product & Regulatory Counsel to support their growth in the Americas. You'll provide strategic legal advice on product development and regulatory compliance in the payments sector. This role requires strong familiarity with US money transmission licensing and financial services laws.

Who you are

You have a strong background in legal counsel, particularly in the financial technology sector, with a focus on regulatory frameworks and compliance. Your experience includes advising cross-functional teams on legal obligations and product development, ensuring that innovative solutions meet regulatory standards. You are adept at navigating complex legal landscapes and have a keen understanding of the challenges faced by fintech companies in a rapidly evolving market.

You possess a deep familiarity with US money transmission licensing (MTLs) and cross-border payment systems, which allows you to provide informed guidance on compliance matters. Your ability to quickly learn and adapt to new regulations is a key asset, enabling you to support Nium's expansion into new markets effectively. You are a strategic thinker who can balance legal considerations with business objectives, helping to drive innovation while managing risk.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as a key strategic advisor to various teams, including Product, Engineering, Compliance, Bank Partnerships, and Marketing. You will help design and build new payment products and services, ensuring they align with Nium's legal and regulatory obligations in the Americas region. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the company's growth and expansion plans, as you provide strategic advice on regulatory compliance and risk management.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address legal challenges associated with product development. This includes conducting thorough analyses of regulatory requirements and advising on best practices for compliance. You will also play a vital role in supporting Nium's licensing efforts, helping to navigate the complexities of financial services laws and regulations.
