Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in information security and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) — you understand the complexities of securing advanced hardware systems and the importance of maintaining compliance with various standards. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working across disciplines to address security challenges effectively. Your experience includes hardening software platforms and deploying secure environments, ensuring that security and availability are prioritized in all aspects of development.
You are detail-oriented and proactive in managing security incidents and ensuring endpoint security — you have a knack for establishing baseline device configurations and guaranteeing technical compliance with information security standards. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders allows you to advocate for security best practices across the organization. You are committed to continuous improvement and staying updated on the latest security trends and technologies.
What you'll do
As a Security Engineer at Nominal, you will play a critical role in developing and maturing various security and GRC controls across the organization. You will assist in hardening Nominal's software platform, ensuring that it meets the highest security standards while maintaining availability. Your responsibilities will include deploying software into secure environments and assisting with incident response to mitigate potential security threats.
You will manage Nominal's network and ensure endpoint security, establishing baseline device configurations that align with industry best practices. You will work closely with engineering teams to integrate security measures into the development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a fundamental aspect of all projects. Your role will also involve collaborating with various departments to meet authority to operate (ATO) initiatives, ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to and that the organization remains compliant with relevant regulations.
What we offer
At Nominal, you will be part of a small, fast-moving team dedicated to building the software infrastructure for advanced hardware systems. We offer a collaborative work environment where you can take ownership of your projects and contribute to meaningful solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that powers spacecraft, autonomous vehicles, and next-generation industrial machines. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
