Who you are
You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on building and maintaining data pipelines that support analytics and reporting needs. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. You are familiar with data modeling concepts and have experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with finance and engineering teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive business insights. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex data challenges with ease. You understand the importance of documentation and maintain clear records of data processes and transformations. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the data engineering space.
Desirable
Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. Knowledge of financial systems and reporting processes will help you excel in this role, as you will be integrating various data sources to support Notion's financial reporting needs.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that integrate data from various financial and business systems into a cohesive dataset for reporting and analysis. You will collaborate closely with the Finance, Monetization Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to understand their data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets that serve as the sources of truth for financial reporting. You will monitor and optimize data pipelines to ensure they run efficiently and reliably, addressing any issues that arise promptly. You will also be responsible for documenting data processes and transformations, ensuring that your work is transparent and understandable to other team members. As you grow in this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the overall data strategy at Notion.
