You possess a deep understanding of AI components and their implications for safety in autonomous systems. Your ability to decompose claims and generate atomic claims through systematic analysis is a key strength. You are comfortable delegating tasks to cross-functional teams while maintaining oversight to ensure quality and adherence to safety standards. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders effectively.
Desirable
Experience in the automotive industry or with autonomous vehicles is a plus. What you'll do
As the Autonomous Driving System Safety Lead, you will take ownership of safety claims for both onboard and offboard software components. Your role involves working closely with the autonomy software and data platform teams to coordinate system requirements and AI architecture. You will generate and manage safety claims, ensuring that they are well-supported by evidence and that any potential gaps are identified and mitigated.
You will lead efforts to create a comprehensive safety case that encompasses all aspects of the autonomous driving system. This includes understanding the design and interfaces of the system, as well as its technical capabilities. You will collaborate with various teams, including Autonomy Robotics and Software Infrastructure, to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into the development process from the outset.
Your responsibilities will also include overseeing the quality of safety claims generated by cross-functional teams. You will provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of safety and accountability. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that Nuro's autonomous driving technology meets the highest safety standards.
