Who you are

You are an aspiring software engineer with strong programming skills in C and C++. You have a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, concurrency, and algorithm design. Your understanding of pose estimation, SLAM, and probabilistic filtering sets you apart, and you possess good problem-solving and debugging skills. You are also an effective communicator and collaborator, eager to work closely with autonomy software engineers to meet project timelines.

You are currently pursuing a degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with a graduation date in or before December 2027. If you are a graduate student, such as an MS or PhD candidate, that would be a plus.

Desirable

You have experience with Kalman Filtering, GNSS, IMU, wheel encoders, and Lidar, which would enhance your contributions to the team. Familiarity with device driver development and knowledge of AV safety standards are also beneficial. Understanding the self-driving stack, autonomy, and controls will give you an edge in this role.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer Intern at Nuro, you will develop software for pose estimation and evaluation using various sensors such as IMU, wheel encoders, and GNSS. You will also create tools for data collection and statistical analysis, contributing to the overall performance of the Nuro Driver™ technology. Your role will involve close collaboration with autonomy software engineers to ensure project timelines are met effectively.

You will engage in hands-on programming, applying your knowledge of C and C++ to solve complex problems related to vehicle state estimation. Your contributions will directly impact the development of self-driving technology, making autonomy accessible to all. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers and gain insights into the cutting-edge field of autonomous vehicles.
