Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in designing and developing control algorithms for high-voltage motor/generator drives, with a focus on aircraft propulsion systems. Your experience includes building and maintaining high-fidelity propulsion models using MATLAB and Simulink, and you are familiar with SiC inverters and rectifiers. You understand the complexities of EMI and EMC in control systems, especially for high-frequency operations. Your track record includes shipping production-ready controls and models in fast-paced, cross-functional hardware programs.
You possess a deep understanding of FMEA and FTA methodologies, ensuring robust requirements traceability in your projects. Your integration experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) and flight controls over CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet showcases your ability to work with complex systems. You are comfortable with high-voltage systems operating in the range of 400-800 VDC and have a keen eye for detail in your designs.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and develop advanced control algorithms for aircraft propulsion systems, focusing on high-voltage motor/generator drives and DC/DC converters. You will build and maintain high-fidelity propulsion models, ensuring they accurately represent the various components involved, including batteries, turbines, and sensors. Your work will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that the propulsion systems meet stringent performance and safety standards.
You will also be responsible for integrating control systems with BMS and flight controls, utilizing your knowledge of communication protocols like CAN and Ethernet. Your expertise in EMI/EMC will be crucial as you work on control systems that operate at high frequencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will track the progress of your projects, ensuring that all requirements are met and that the systems are ready for production.
