5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or related fields — you have a strong background in managing cloud-native applications and are familiar with the principles of reliability and scalability. You understand the importance of automation and have a mindset geared towards optimizing processes and systems.

Deep expertise in Kubernetes — you've architected and managed Kubernetes platforms, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant. You are comfortable with container orchestration and have experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.

Hands-on experience with AWS — you have worked extensively with AWS services and understand how to leverage them to build scalable and cost-effective solutions. You are familiar with best practices for cloud architecture and security.

Strong problem-solving skills — you thrive on challenges and enjoy troubleshooting complex issues in production environments. You have a proactive approach to identifying potential problems before they impact users.

Excellent communication skills — you can articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and share knowledge.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Okta, you will play a key role in building and managing Kubernetes platforms that support our cloud-native applications. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability and performance while optimizing costs through automation and efficient resource management.

You will collaborate with development teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid deployment of applications while maintaining reliability and security. Your expertise in Kubernetes will be crucial in architecting solutions that meet the demands of our growing user base.

You will monitor system performance and reliability, using metrics and logs to identify areas for improvement. You will lead incident response efforts, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and effectively, and that lessons learned are documented to prevent future occurrences.
