OpenAI is hiring an Applied Data Scientist to develop causal inference and predictive models that drive business decisions. You'll work with Python and SQL to analyze customer lifetime value and guide strategic growth. This position requires strong analytical skills and effective communication.

You have a strong background in data science and causal inference, with experience in building predictive models that inform strategic business decisions. You are proficient in Python and SQL, enabling you to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders sets you apart, as you can translate data findings into strategic recommendations. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects.
Desirable
Experience in customer lifetime value analysis and pricing strategies is a plus. Familiarity with B2B and B2C business models will enhance your contributions to the team. You are comfortable with hybrid work models and can adapt to various team dynamics.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the development of foundational causal inference and data science models to predict and quantify the drivers of customer lifetime value (LTV). You will partner with teams across Finance, Product, and Data Engineering to build models that support strategic pricing and investment decisions. Your work will involve architecting scalable frameworks that democratize economic insights for leadership and functional teams. You will analyze price elasticity to guide product packaging and monetization strategies, ensuring that OpenAI maximizes its impact and growth potential.
You will also design customer adoption journeys that enhance lifetime value, identifying key actions and product features that drive customer satisfaction and retention. Your analytical skills will be crucial in measuring and forecasting LTV across different customer segments, allowing OpenAI to make informed decisions that align with its mission. You will be responsible for presenting your findings to executive leadership, ensuring that data-driven insights inform the company's strategic direction.
