Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role, ideally in a developer-facing or high-growth product environment — you've successfully measured product-market fit and understand the nuances of developer productivity. Your expertise in A/B testing and data analysis allows you to derive actionable insights from complex datasets, and you are proficient in SQL and Python, which you use to build dashboards and analyses that inform product decisions.
You thrive in collaborative settings, embedding with product teams to discover opportunities that enhance developer outcomes and growth. Your ability to define and operationalize metrics such as suggestion acceptance and task completion demonstrates your analytical mindset and focus on continuous improvement. You are comfortable diagnosing failure modes and partnering with research teams to implement targeted improvements based on user feedback.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Scientist on the Codex team, you will play a crucial role in shaping how developers interact with AI tools. You will define what developer productivity means for our product and run experiments on new coding models and user experiences. Your insights will directly influence the development of tools that help engineers design, write, test, and ship code faster and more safely.
You will design and interpret A/B tests and staged rollouts of new coding models and product features, ensuring that we are continuously learning and adapting to user needs. Your work will involve building dashboards that help the team self-serve answers to product questions, allowing for data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will also collaborate closely with research teams to diagnose issues and improve model quality signals based on user feedback.
