OpenAI is hiring an Engineering Manager for their Financial Engineering team to lead the development of workflows for order management and billing systems. You'll focus on building reliable and automated processes to enhance customer onboarding and financial integrity.

Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering management, with experience leading teams focused on building and operating complex systems. Your expertise includes overseeing order management automation, ensuring reliability and correctness in workflows, and enhancing customer onboarding experiences. You understand the importance of financial integrity and auditability in billing processes, and you are committed to delivering seamless experiences for enterprise customers.
You possess excellent leadership skills, enabling you to grow and mentor a team of engineers. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including GTM and Finance, to tailor solutions that meet evolving business needs. Your technical acumen allows you to own the architecture and roadmap for order data flows, ensuring smooth integration with downstream systems.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead a team responsible for automating order management processes, focusing on building resilient workflows that minimize manual intervention. You will own the architecture for order data flows into various systems, including billing and invoicing services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in provisioning and invoicing. Your responsibilities will include establishing strong operational practices, such as observability and alerting, to maintain system integrity and performance.
You will work closely with your team to improve the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes, implementing automation and validation techniques to reduce operational load. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, as you strive to enhance the customer experience through effective onboarding and billing journeys.
