OpenAI is hiring a US Congressional Lead for their Global Affairs team to develop strategies and engage with U.S. Congress. This role requires strong relationship management skills and a deep understanding of public policy.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in public policy and government relations, with experience in engaging with congressional stakeholders. Your ability to build authentic relationships with lawmakers and civil society partners is key to your success in this role. You understand the complexities of AI regulation and are passionate about ensuring that AI benefits all of humanity.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey OpenAI's mission and initiatives to diverse audiences. Your strategic thinking enables you to develop initiatives that align with both OpenAI's goals and the needs of policymakers. What you'll do
As the US Congressional Lead, you will develop and manage relationships with House and Senate lawmakers and their staff, ensuring that OpenAI's insights inform legislative discussions. You will support the U.S. Public Policy and Partnerships team in various engagements, including meetings, briefings, and hearings. Your role will involve facilitating collaboration with civil society and industry partners to align efforts with OpenAI's mission.
You will help shape strategic initiatives and policy documents that reflect OpenAI's commitment to responsible AI development. Your day-to-day work will require you to stay informed about the latest developments in AI technology and regulation, allowing you to effectively advocate for policies that promote safe and beneficial AI tools.
