Overview

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Counsel for their Litigation team to provide legal advice on global litigation and regulatory matters. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage outside counsel. This role requires significant experience in technology law.

Who you are

You are an experienced legal professional with a strong background in litigation and regulatory matters, particularly in the technology sector. You have a deep understanding of commercial disputes, intellectual property litigation, and regulatory investigations. Your ability to stay current on relevant laws and regulations allows you to provide timely and effective legal guidance to company leadership and stakeholders. You thrive in cross-functional environments, collaborating with various teams to gather information and assess compliance. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal professionals.

Desirable

Experience in AI-related legal issues is a plus, as is familiarity with privacy, cybersecurity, and corporate law. You are comfortable managing outside counsel and overseeing all aspects of litigation, from discovery to trial preparation. Your proactive approach to legal challenges and your ability to think strategically about legal risks make you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of global litigation and regulatory matters. You will manage and oversee outside counsel in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Communications, Global Affairs, and Executive teams, to ensure that OpenAI's legal strategies align with its business objectives. Staying current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends will be essential, as you will be responsible for providing updates and legal guidance to company leadership. Your role will also involve assessing compliance with legal standards and helping to shape OpenAI's approach to legal challenges in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
