OpenAI is hiring an Associate General Counsel, Policy (Copyright) to navigate the legislative landscape related to copyright and AI. You'll engage with regulators and develop policy positions on copyright matters. This role requires expertise in global copyright laws.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in technology law, particularly in the areas of copyright and artificial intelligence. Your experience includes navigating complex legal frameworks and engaging with policymakers to influence legislation. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
You bring deep expertise in global copyright laws and understand their implications for technology companies. Your analytical skills allow you to assess the impact of new laws on the AI landscape effectively. You thrive in a role that requires both legal acumen and strategic thinking, and you are passionate about the intersection of law and technology.
What you'll do
In this role, you will analyze AI laws and regulations as they relate to copyright matters, providing insights that will shape OpenAI's approach to compliance and policy development. You will engage with regulators and policymakers to advocate for positions that align with OpenAI's mission and values. Your responsibilities will include developing policy positions on pending legislation and monitoring emerging legislative trends that could affect the AI community.
You will work closely with the Global Affairs team and other internal stakeholders, providing legal analysis and advice to ensure that OpenAI remains compliant with evolving laws. Your role will also involve keeping the team updated on significant regulatory developments and their potential impact on the organization.
