OpenAI is hiring a Senior Datacenter Networking Technician for their AI Compute Deployment team. You'll lead network deployment for data center projects and collaborate with internal and external teams. This role requires experience in networking and data center environments.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced datacenter networking technician with a strong background in translating network blueprints into physical infrastructure. You thrive in fast-paced build environments and are eager to roll up your sleeves during active datacenter deployments. With a focus on performance and reliability, you have a proven track record of collaborating with partner teams and delivery vendors to achieve project goals.
You possess deep technical knowledge in networking technologies and have hands-on experience with fiber testing and cable routing. Your ability to lead technical discussions and guide implementation across multiple locations sets you apart. You are comfortable working onsite and are committed to ensuring compliance with job posting standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as OpenAIβs technical lead technician during the current campus build, partnering with internal engineers and external contractors on design reviews, installation plans, and acceptance criteria. You will spend significant time on the data-center floor performing inspections and assisting with cable routing and termination when needed. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting fiber testing and ensuring that all installations meet the required standards.
As the project progresses, you will transition to lead network deployment for future OpenAI data center projects, defining standards and guiding implementation across multiple locations. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that the network infrastructure is built to scale, speed, and reliability, contributing to the overall success of OpenAI's AI infrastructure ecosystem.
