Who you are
You have a strong background in networking and firmware development, with experience in building and maintaining custom networking operating systems. Your expertise in Linux kernel components and device drivers allows you to effectively integrate and configure complex systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with hardware and systems teams to meet stringent technical expectations.
You are familiar with SONiC and have experience with switch ASIC SDKs, enabling you to design and develop custom NOS images for large-scale AI fabrics. Your problem-solving skills and attention to detail ensure that you can validate, configure, and optimize switch platforms for high-performance applications. You understand the importance of reliability and availability in networking systems, and you are committed to delivering production-grade solutions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain custom SONiC NOS images from scratch, ensuring they meet the unique demands of OpenAI's AI supercomputing infrastructure. You will work across various components, including the Linux kernel, switch ASIC SAI/SDKs, and control-plane services, to create a seamless integration with fleet automation. Your responsibilities will include validating and optimizing switch platforms used across high-bandwidth cluster fabrics, ensuring they perform reliably and efficiently.
You will collaborate with hardware and systems teams to guide vendors in meeting technical expectations, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of AI-native silicon and system-level solutions, shaping the future of technology at OpenAI.
