Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded engineering, with experience in designing and implementing firmware for hardware peripherals. Your expertise in C and C++ allows you to write high throughput and low latency firmware code that meets the demands of advanced AI workloads. You are skilled in debugging and troubleshooting firmware and driver issues on new platforms, ensuring smooth integration with hardware components.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with software and hardware teams to implement requirements and shape future generations of AI-native silicon. Your ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams helps you integrate various technologies seamlessly into systems. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering production-grade silicon solutions that drive innovation in AI.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement drivers for hardware peripherals, focusing on AI chips. You will also create functional software models to simulate SoC uncore logic, enabling firmware testing against these models. Your responsibilities will include developing low-latency and high throughput embedded software to manage hardware resources effectively. You will collaborate with adjacent software and hardware teams to debug issues and refine processes, ensuring that the firmware meets performance standards.
You will be involved in bringing up and debugging firmware and drivers on new platforms, addressing any issues that arise in the field. Your work will contribute to the development of custom design tools and methodologies that accelerate innovation in AI hardware. You will play a key role in shaping the future of AI-native silicon at OpenAI, working on projects that have a significant impact on the company's supercomputing infrastructure.
