Who you are

You have a strong background in physical security systems design, with experience in translating threat models and regulatory requirements into actionable security designs. Your technical depth is complemented by real-world build experience, allowing you to effectively collaborate with architecture, engineering, construction, and security operations teams.

You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of compliance and safety in designing security systems for commercial offices, warehouses, labs, and data centers. Your ability to work across various environments ensures that you can meet stringent safety and reliability standards.

What you'll do

As a Physical Security Systems Design Engineer, you will lead the design and documentation of security systems across OpenAI’s global real estate portfolio. You will partner with IT, Facilities, Construction, and Security Operations to ensure that all environments meet compliance requirements. Your role will involve site travel to support the needs of the business, including visits to various facilities.

You will be responsible for creating buildable, standards-based security designs that are executed by top-tier global integrators. Your work will encompass the entire lifecycle of security architecture, from early site due diligence through construction and long-term management.
