Who you are
You have a strong background in physical security systems design, with experience in translating threat models and regulatory requirements into actionable security designs. Your technical depth is complemented by real-world build experience, allowing you to effectively collaborate with architecture, engineering, construction, and security operations teams. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of compliance and safety in various environments, including commercial offices, warehouses, labs, and data centers.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with IT, Facilities, Construction, and Security Operations to ensure that all environments meet stringent safety and reliability standards. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts to diverse stakeholders is a key strength, enabling you to drive projects from early site due diligence through to construction and long-term lifecycle management.
What you'll do
As a Physical Security Systems Design Engineer, you will lead the design and documentation of security systems across OpenAIβs global real estate portfolio. This includes working on projects for commercial offices, warehouses, labs, and data centers. You will be responsible for ensuring that security designs are buildable and standards-based, executed by top-tier global integrators. Your role will require site travel to support the needs of the business, including visits to various facilities to assess security requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop security architecture that meets operational needs while adhering to regulatory requirements. Your expertise will guide the design process, ensuring that all security systems are robust and effective in mitigating potential threats. You will also be involved in the commissioning and long-term management of these systems, ensuring they remain effective throughout their lifecycle.
