What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain backend systems that power privacy and data compliance functions within OpenAI's API products and consumer applications. You will collaborate closely with legal advisors and other engineers to respond to court orders and legal processes, ensuring that all actions uphold strict data privacy and legal standards. You will identify opportunities for automation and develop tools that enable other teams to automate tasks involving customer data, streamlining processes and enhancing compliance efforts.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing data handling policies and procedures that align with OpenAI's commitment to responsible data use. Your work will directly contribute to building a secure and trustworthy platform that processes user data across all OpenAI products and systems.
