Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in building effective custom software solutions that leverage APIs to solve real customer problems. You are customer-focused and enjoy collaborating with various stakeholders to understand their business challenges and technical requirements in detail. You possess a solid understanding of full-stack development and are comfortable designing, architecting, and developing scalable solutions using an experiment-driven, iterative approach.
You thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing time between the office and remote work. You are adaptable and willing to travel up to 50% to meet with strategic customers, ensuring that you can embed deeply with their teams to deliver tailored solutions. Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to act as a technical expert and trusted advisor to customers.
What you'll do
As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at OpenAI, you will work closely with customers to design and implement scalable solutions that address their most difficult problems. You will prepare detailed scopes of work and project plans for both proof-of-concept prototypes and full production deployments. Your role will involve hands-on coding and collaboration with customers' technical teams, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet their needs effectively.
You will also collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architects, and Customer Success Managers who work on the same account, providing insightful feedback to our Research and Applied Product and Engineering teams. Your contributions will help shape the future of technology by turning research breakthroughs into production systems that have a real impact on customers' businesses.
