Your technical expertise allows you to design and implement effective software that leverages APIs, particularly OpenAI’s. You thrive in customer-facing roles, embedding deeply with clients to understand their business needs and technical requirements. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote work. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success.

Desirable

Experience with full-stack development is a plus, as is familiarity with iterative, experiment-driven approaches to software design. A background in AI or machine learning can enhance your ability to deliver impactful solutions. You are adaptable and open to travel, as this role may require up to 50% travel to meet with customers.

What you'll do

As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at OpenAI, you will partner with customers to transform research breakthroughs into production systems. Your role will involve designing, architecting, and developing full-stack solutions that solve real customer problems. You will prepare detailed scopes of work and project plans for both proof-of-concept prototypes and full production deployments. You will work hands-on with customers' technical teams, acting as a technical expert and trusted advisor. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and quality of delivery across all Forward Deployed engagements, ensuring that customer needs are met effectively.
