You have 5+ years of experience in network engineering, particularly in low-latency environments — you've designed and optimized networks that support high-frequency trading systems, ensuring speed and reliability. Your technical expertise includes working with Cisco technologies and implementing network automation solutions to streamline operations.

You are skilled in WAN technologies and understand the complexities of data center operations — your experience allows you to contribute effectively to capacity planning and traffic flow optimization. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with traders and engineers to ensure that network performance meets the demands of a competitive market-making environment.

Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy tackling challenges that require innovative solutions — whether it's automating manual processes or enhancing network security, you approach each task with a focus on reducing complexity and improving efficiency. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Desirable

Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices is a plus — you understand how to standardize environments and contribute to the overall vision of network infrastructure. Familiarity with enterprise security protocols will also enhance your ability to support Optiver's trading operations effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join Optiver’s Network Engineering team, where your contributions will directly impact the performance of our trading systems. You will identify, design, and implement network optimizations that enhance the speed and reliability of our infrastructure. Your work will involve automating and eliminating manual elements of our network, ensuring that our systems operate seamlessly.

You will assist with planned upgrades and maintenance, including migrations and hardware/software upgrades — your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that all aspects of our WAN network function correctly across our global data centers and colocations. You will also contribute to capacity planning and connectivity improvements, playing a key role in optimizing traffic flow across our networks.

Collaboration is essential in this position; you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our network infrastructure supports the high-performance needs of our traders. Your insights will help shape the ongoing standardization of our environments, aligning with our Infrastructure as Code vision.
