Who you are

You have a strong background in managing and operating data platforms, particularly with Databricks, and understand the importance of infrastructure, automation, and operational excellence in a data-driven environment. Your experience includes building and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform, and you are proficient in Python and shell scripting for automating platform operations. You are familiar with CI/CD systems and have a solid understanding of release engineering practices, enabling you to implement automated validation and testing of configuration changes. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for troubleshooting platform-level issues, ensuring that systems are configured correctly and securely.

Desirable

Experience with Git-based workflows and environment lifecycle management is a plus, as is familiarity with observability and logging improvements. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to influence platform standards and direction.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of Optiver's Databricks platform, designing, deploying, and operating workspaces and environments. You will manage workspace configurations, cluster policies, access controls, and platform settings to ensure reliability, security, and cost governance. Your responsibilities will include establishing and enforcing standards for platform operations, as well as supporting and improving the overall Databricks platform operations. You will leverage Infrastructure as Code principles to build and maintain infrastructure, creating repeatable and version-controlled deployment patterns across environments. Additionally, you will design and maintain CI/CD systems for infrastructure and platform configuration, implementing automated validation and testing processes. Your role will also involve troubleshooting platform-level issues and improving observability and logging practices to enhance system performance.

Optiver provides a competitive salary range of $150,000—$225,000 USD, along with a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
