Who you are
You are a recent graduate with a PhD in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, or computer science. You possess a strong foundation in statistics and have exceptional analytical and research skills β you've developed innovative solutions during your academic career that demonstrate your ability to tackle complex problems. Your experience with programming languages, particularly Python, allows you to manipulate and analyze large data sets effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside mathematicians, scientists, and technologists to shape the future of electronic trading.
Desirable
Experience with machine learning techniques and big data technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with financial markets and trading strategies. You have a keen interest in algorithmic trading and are eager to apply your knowledge in a practical setting. You are open to mentorship and are excited about the opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic team.
What you'll do
As a Graduate Quantitative Researcher, you will develop, refine, and implement algorithmic trading strategies that are foundational to Optiverβs trading operations. You will leverage vast data sets to construct complex models that predict market movements, using statistical models and machine learning to develop trading algorithms. Your role will involve analyzing high-frequency trading strategies and market microstructure to identify trading opportunities. You will also build stochastic models to determine the fair value of financial derivatives, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of pricing engines and libraries. Throughout your onboarding, you will participate in Optiverβs Global Academy, gaining insights into trading theory and the company's tech stack to prepare you for impactful contributions.
