Who you are
You have a strong background in actuarial science and experience in risk adjustment, particularly within the Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. You are detail-oriented and possess the ability to maintain and enhance actuarial models, ensuring accuracy and consistency across various analyses. Your analytical skills allow you to forecast estimates and develop risk adjustment accrual estimates effectively.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects. Your communication skills enable you to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and collaboration. You are adaptable and open to evolving work models, whether fully remote or hybrid.
What you'll do
As a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Oscar, you will play a pivotal role in the valuation function, focusing on risk adjustment across all ACA markets. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing core risk adjustment reporting and forecasting models, ensuring they meet the needs of the team and the organization. Your work will directly impact the accuracy of risk adjustment accrual estimates and various analyses that support Oscar's mission to provide exceptional health insurance services.
You will collaborate closely with the Director of Actuarial and other team members to ensure that the actuarial models are robust and reliable. Your insights will help shape the strategic direction of Oscar's actuarial practices, allowing the company to navigate the complexities of the health insurance landscape effectively.
