Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in legal counsel with a focus on regulatory compliance, ideally with experience in managing teams. Your expertise spans multiple jurisdictions, allowing you to provide strategic legal guidance that supports business growth while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You are adept at navigating complex legal landscapes and have a proven track record of enabling organizations to expand their operations globally. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage a small team of legal professionals, guiding them in providing comprehensive legal support to various departments within the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance strategies that align with Oyster's global expansion goals. Your role will involve reviewing and advising on contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure they meet legal standards and best practices. You will also play a key role in training staff on compliance matters and fostering a culture of legal awareness within the organization. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Governance, Risk & Compliance to identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
