You have 3-5+ years of experience in product design (UI/UX) and a portfolio showcasing multiple shipped mobile apps — your work reflects a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to create engaging experiences. You are skilled in using design tools like Figma, and you have a knack for storytelling through your designs, ensuring that your intent is communicated clearly to stakeholders.

You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering closely with product, engineering, research, and marketing teams to tackle ambiguous problems and develop innovative solutions. Your approach balances systems-thinking with attention to detail, obsessing over user flows while also ensuring that every visual element aligns with the overall design language.

You understand that design is not just about aesthetics; it’s about creating tools that resonate with users' emotional and practical needs. You advocate for real people, ensuring that your designs enhance their interactions with AI products.

Desirable

Experience with AI or consumer technology products is a plus, as is familiarity with design systems and the ability to adapt existing patterns or invent new ones when necessary. You are open to feedback and continuously seek to improve your craft, understanding that collaboration is key to successful product design.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design process from concept to polished execution across both mobile and web platforms. You will develop product strategies, explore interaction patterns, and push bold ideas into prototypes and shipped products. Your work will involve creating intuitive interfaces that inspire creativity and align with users' needs.

You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to bring clarity to complex problems, using storytelling and prototypes to communicate your design intent effectively. Your responsibilities will include balancing systems-thinking with craft, ensuring that user flows are logical and consistent while also paying attention to typography, color palettes, and animations.

You will advocate for users throughout the design process, understanding that your role is to create meaningful experiences that enhance their interactions with AI. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall design culture at Pika, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration.
