Overview
Pivotal is hiring a Senior GNC Engineer to focus on requirements definition, verification, and validation of GNC features for eVTOL aircraft. You'll collaborate closely with flight test, systems, and controls teams to ensure safety-critical features are robust. This position requires expertise in flight control systems.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems, with a focus on flight control verification. Your experience includes developing testable requirements and designing simulation and flight test cases for complex aerospace systems. You understand the importance of safety-critical features and have a proven track record of ensuring robustness across worst-case scenarios.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with flight test, systems, and controls teams to validate designs at both simulation and aircraft levels. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams allows you to drive projects forward and ensure alignment on objectives. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for advancing the field of electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
What you'll do
In this role, you will focus on the requirements definition, verification, and validation of GNC features for Pivotal's eVTOL aircraft. You will develop testable requirements that ensure the safety and performance of flight envelope limiters and state estimation systems. Your responsibilities will include designing simulation and flight test cases that rigorously evaluate the performance of these systems under various conditions.
You will collaborate closely with flight test teams to validate designs, ensuring that all safety-critical features meet the highest standards. Your work will directly contribute to the development of next-generation aircraft, such as the Helix, which is set to enter scalable production in early 2026. You will be part of a team that is at the forefront of innovation in the aerospace industry, working on technologies that will shape the future of urban air mobility.
What we offer
Pivotal offers a dynamic work environment where you can grow your skills and contribute to groundbreaking projects in the eVTOL space. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and industry experts who are passionate about advancing aviation technology. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our team.
Join us at Pivotal and be part of a mission to revolutionize air travel with our innovative eVTOL aircraft. We are committed to creating a workplace that fosters creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.
