Backend Engineer โข Senior
VideoAmp โข Los Angeles - Hybrid
Job Description
VideoAmp is on a mission to create the best employee and workplace experience where people can bring their whole self to work everyday. We believe that accomplishing something great requires a special group of people who work hard, drive results and have a blast while doing it - people who challenge the status quo and embody our values. People who say โIโll find a wayโ instead of saying โit canโt be done.โ
At VideoAmp, we believe in challenging advertising paradigms to maximize value for clients. We do this by enabling companies to execute on business outcomes across their media investment instead of more traditional media metrics. VideoAmp is the software and data solutions company powering the convergence of linear TV and digital video advertising. Our solutions connect linear TV viewership with addressable data assets to benefit the marketing and media industries. This enables marketers and content owners to holistically plan, transact, and measure deduplicated audiences across digital video, OTT, connected and linear TV advertising.

- Improve and maintain core API services that power large-scale planning and measurement workflows.
- Implement and optimize process orchestration using Temporal and Airflow.
- Ensure API resiliency, observability, and performance through rigorous monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate product requirements into architectural designs and execution plans.
- Contribute to team-wide best practices across API design, security, testing, and service reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Support continuous improvement through thoughtful documentation, automation, and consensus-driven decision making.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in backend or web application development.
- Strong programming skills with Go, and experience with Python or JavaScript a plus.
- Deep experience building scalable, secure, and reliable production APIs.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to distill technical requirements, build consensus, and drive work from design โ implementation โ monitoring.
- A self-starter who is detail-oriented, results-driven, and prefers collaboration over top-down leadership styles.
- Experience in Ad Tech, particularly in planning, audience measurement, or viewership data greatly preferred.
