Financial Analyst • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have 2-7 years of experience in credit research, particularly focused on the energy or chemicals sectors, whether on the buy-side or sell-side. Your expertise lies in conducting rigorous fundamental credit research, and you possess outstanding skills in financial modeling and relative value analysis. You are familiar with various credit securities, including bonds and CDS, and are comfortable dealing with uncertainty while expressing conviction in your analyses. You are self-motivated, team-oriented, and eager to take risks and accountability for your decisions.

What you'll do

As a Credit Analyst at Point72, you will report to a Portfolio Manager based in New York and focus on generating commercial trade ideas across the liquid High Yield and Leveraged Loan universe. Your role will involve conducting thorough credit analysis, financial modeling, and documentation reviews to identify attractive long/short investment opportunities. You will analyze businesses and capital structures across High Yield and more stressed names within the credit markets, developing credit opinions in collaboration with the Portfolio Manager and other analysts. You will synthesize market information to develop thematic trade ideas and monitor existing positions, including news flow and fundamental developments. Engaging and maintaining external relationships with sell-side research, syndicate, company management, and ratings agencies will be crucial in developing your views on issuers.
