Job Description
Who you are
You have 2-5 years of experience in private equity valuation, ideally gained at a valuation advisory, audit, private equity, or venture capital firm. Your educational background includes a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, equipping you with the necessary analytical skills. You are adept at analyzing financial statements and valuing companies from seed to IPO using acceptable valuation methods such as market information. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to present analysis and fair value recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with ASC 820 and familiarity with diverse private investment asset classes, including mature private equity, early-stage venture capital, and real estate investments, would be advantageous. You are comfortable coordinating with deal teams and leading valuation reviews, showcasing your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Your analytical mindset allows you to monitor portfolio company progress and quantify impacts on valuations, informing senior management as required.
What you'll do
In this role, you will cover a wide scope of private investment asset classes, coordinating with deal teams to lead diverse private equity valuation and venture capital portfolio reviews. You will build and maintain valuation models in accordance with ASC 820, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Presenting your analysis and fair value recommendations to the Valuation Committees will be a key responsibility, requiring you to articulate complex financial concepts clearly. You will also monitor portfolio company progress and events, quantifying impacts on valuations and informing senior management as necessary.
Additionally, you will coordinate valuation reviews performed by third-party valuation firms and external auditors, ensuring that all valuations are robust and defensible. Reviewing valuation and P&L reporting for internal performance tracking and investor reporting will also fall under your purview, allowing you to contribute to the firm's overall financial health and transparency.
What we offer
Point72 offers a competitive annual base salary range of $115,000-$145,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package.
