Who you are

You have 2-4 years of experience in valuation and/or P&L reporting, ideally within a financial services environment. You possess strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail, allowing you to manage complex valuation processes effectively. Your ability to communicate clearly with traders and portfolio managers helps you resolve pricing issues swiftly, ensuring smooth operations. You are comfortable working with various financial instruments, including equities, futures, and options, and have a solid understanding of the valuation methodologies applicable to these products.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with teams across Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Technology. Your proactive approach to identifying opportunities for workflow improvements demonstrates your commitment to enhancing processes and driving results. You are adept at preparing performance reports that inform strategic decision-making at the senior management level, showcasing your ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

What you'll do

As an Associate in the Equity Valuation & PnL Reporting team, you will manage the real-time and end-of-day valuation process for publicly traded equities, futures, and options. You will act as the primary point of contact for traders and portfolio managers, quickly resolving intra-day pricing issues to maintain operational efficiency. Your role will involve preparing daily firmwide performance reports for senior management, providing critical insights that inform the firm's strategy and investment decisions.

You will perform independent price-testing of the hedge fund's investments as part of the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with valuation standards. Additionally, you will maintain reporting of external fund investment valuation, P&L, and performance metrics, contributing to the overall transparency and accountability of the firm's financial reporting. Your ability to identify opportunities for improvement in valuation and P&L reporting workflows will be essential as you partner with Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Risk teams to implement effective solutions.
