Point72 is hiring a Quantitative Researcher to perform rigorous applied research in systematic alpha research in equities. You'll work with Python and C++ in a collaborative environment. This position requires 3+ years of experience in high frequency/intraday data analysis.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a similar quantitative discipline. With 3+ years of work experience in systematic alpha research in equities, you are comfortable handling high frequency/intraday data and have a strong understanding of data science practices, including feature engineering and signal combining.
You are technically proficient in coding with both C++ and Python, particularly in a Linux environment. Your experience includes working with large datasets and cloud computing platforms such as AWS. You are highly motivated and take ownership of your work, demonstrating a collaborative mindset while also being capable of independent research.
You are committed to the highest ethical standards and have a keen interest in discovering systematic anomalies in the equities markets. Your ability to present actionable trading ideas and enhance existing strategies sets you apart as a valuable team member.
Desirable
Experience with high frequency trading strategies and a strong background in quantitative finance would be advantageous. Familiarity with research tooling and efficiency improvements is also a plus.
What you'll do
In this role, you will perform rigorous applied research to discover systematic anomalies in the equities markets. You will present actionable trading ideas and enhance existing strategies, identifying short-term opportunities in the high frequency/intraday space. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end development, which encompasses data orchestration, alpha idea generation, simulation, strategy implementation, and performance evaluation.
You will contribute towards the teamβs research tooling and its efficiency, helping to establish a collaborative mindset and shared ownership within the team. Your work will directly impact the firm's systematic, computer-driven trading strategies across multiple liquid asset classes, including equities, futures, and foreign exchange.
