Point72 is hiring a Senior Quantitative Researcher to perform rigorous applied research in systematic trading strategies. You'll work with Python and C++ in a collaborative environment. This position requires 5+ years of experience in systematic alpha research.
Job Description
Who you are
You have an advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a similar quantitative discipline, and you bring over 5 years of experience in systematic alpha research, particularly in liquid futures markets. Your fluency in data science practices, including feature engineering and signal combining, allows you to identify and monetize short-term opportunities in high-frequency trading. You are technically comfortable handling large datasets and have a strong command of C++ and Python, especially in a Linux environment with AWS exposure.
You are highly motivated and take ownership of your work, demonstrating a collaborative mindset while also being capable of conducting independent research. Your commitment to the highest ethical standards is evident in your approach to trading and research.
What you'll do
In this role, you will perform rigorous applied research to discover systematic anomalies in liquid futures markets. You will present actionable trading ideas and enhance existing strategies, contributing to the end-to-end development of research tooling and its efficiency. Your responsibilities will include identifying short-term opportunities in the high-frequency/intraday space and monetizing them effectively. You will also participate in data orchestration, alpha idea generation, simulation, strategy implementation, and performance evaluation, ensuring that your contributions lead to actionable insights for the team.
