Job Description
Who you are
You are an exceptional student pursuing an undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or another quantitative discipline. You have strong programming experience in Python, demonstrating production-level coding quality that can contribute to impactful projects. Your familiarity with Unix environments and shell scripting allows you to navigate and optimize systems effectively.
You have a keen interest in cloud computing, ideally with experience in AWS and Databricks, which will help you enhance quantitative research platforms. Your knowledge of numerical Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and PyTorch equips you with the tools necessary for data analysis and machine learning tasks. You understand the importance of version control systems like Git and are familiar with software CI/CD tools and lifecycle management.
You are willing to take ownership of your work, demonstrating both independence and the ability to collaborate within a small team. Your understanding of statistics and machine learning concepts is a plus, as it will enable you to contribute to the development of novel trading signals.
Desirable
While not required, knowledge of profiling tools such as cProfile, SnakeViz, and memory-profiler, as well as code optimization techniques, will set you apart as a candidate. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, ready to tackle challenges and contribute to the team's success.
What you'll do
As a Quantitative Developer Intern at Point72, you will work closely with the Internal Alpha Capture (IAC) team to develop scalable quantitative equity trading signals. Your responsibilities will include enhancing quantitative research platforms by benchmarking and integrating in-house and cloud technologies. You will also optimize data ETL pipelines and work with persistent/in-memory caches and SQL databases to improve research and trading tools.
You will gain exposure to a variety of activities that may include collaborating with experienced professionals, receiving comprehensive training, and contributing to projects that have real impact. Your work will help shape the future of quantitative trading at Point72, allowing you to apply your skills in a meaningful way.
