Who you are
You hold a Masterβs degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or another quantitative discipline β your academic background has equipped you with the analytical skills necessary for this role. With 2+ years of experience designing and developing research tools at a tech firm or quant hedge fund, you understand the intricacies of systematic portfolio construction for equities. Your strong programming skills in Python enable you to build efficient and effective solutions.
You have experience with kdb and database design, allowing you to handle large datasets with ease. You are willing to take ownership of your work, demonstrating both independence and the ability to collaborate within a small team. Your commitment to the highest ethical standards ensures that you approach your work with integrity and professionalism.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for building components for both live trading and simulation of global equities portfolios. You will design and deploy new features to enhance the portfolio construction methodology and process, ensuring that the tools you create are robust and user-friendly. Maintaining and updating the platform will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work to ensure its stability, robustness, and security.
You will identify deficiencies in the trading platform and deploy effective solutions to address them. Developing robust data checking and storage procedures will be essential to maintain data integrity. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve any systems-related issues, handling the release of code fixes and enhancements as needed. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the trading strategies employed by Cubist Systematic Strategies.
