Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded systems and firmware development, with experience in real-time constraints and hardware interfacing. Your expertise in C programming allows you to write efficient and reliable code for complex systems. You are familiar with Embedded Linux and have worked with FPGA technologies, enabling you to contribute effectively to the development of cutting-edge quantum sensors. You possess a product mindset and are driven to solve challenging engineering problems, collaborating closely with research scientists to translate their requirements into functional applications. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly makes you a valuable team member in a multidisciplinary environment.
Desirable
Experience with Xilinx Zynq platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with signal processing and data acquisition techniques. A background in quantum technologies or related fields would be beneficial, but is not required. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, and you thrive in a collaborative setting where innovation is encouraged.
What you'll do
As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer at Q-CTRL, you will be responsible for developing firmware that automates the operation of our quantum sensors. You will work closely with the Sensing Engineering team to design and implement applications on our Xilinx Zynq + Embedded Linux platform. Your role will involve addressing real-time constraints and ensuring robust data acquisition and signal processing capabilities. You will collaborate with research scientists to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications, contributing to the advancement of our quantum sensing technologies.
You will also engage in field validation of the systems you develop, ensuring that they meet the rigorous demands of real-world applications in defence and aerospace. Your contributions will play a crucial role in demonstrating the capabilities of our technology and its potential impact on various industries. You will have the opportunity to work with experts in fields such as cold-atom interferometry and inertial navigation, gaining insights into cutting-edge research and its practical applications.
