Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded systems, with extensive experience in writing bare metal and RTOS microcontroller code, particularly with the STM32 product line. Your expertise extends to integrating and developing software for embedded Linux and Android platforms, specifically on Qualcomm and Nvidia SOCs. You are comfortable maintaining Linux kernels and have a solid understanding of electronics design and bring-up processes.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can provide technical direction for complex systems. Your ability to collaborate closely with hardware teams and other software engineers is essential, as you will be creating the foundational software that powers Skydio's autonomous drones. You are passionate about developing reliable embedded firmware that bridges the gap between algorithms and hardware.
What you'll do
In this role, you will architect and lead the development of embedded software for Skydio's current and future products. You will design and implement the embedded systems that serve as the brain of our autonomous drones, ensuring they operate reliably in various environments. Your responsibilities will include providing technical direction for complex systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components effectively.
You will also be involved in the design and bring-up of new electronics, working closely with both the hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our drones, making your role critical to the success of our products.
