Q-CTRL is hiring a Lead Systems Engineer to establish and lead the Systems Engineering team within their Sensing division. You'll define the engineering standards and processes for quantum navigation products. This role requires extensive experience in R&D environments and a strong engineering background.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an accomplished engineer with extensive experience working and leading in R&D environments, particularly in aerospace or other mission-critical industries. You possess strong engineering fundamentals and a product mindset, which allows you to tackle the hardest engineering problems in quantum sensing today. You have a passion for building technology that delivers real-world solutions and are eager to mentor and lead a team of engineers.
You understand the complexities of integrating hardware and software subsystems and have a proven track record of ensuring that these systems operate together reliably. Your experience in defining engineering standards, processes, and documentation is critical to supporting scalable product development. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and scientists to manage integration across various disciplines.
What you'll do
As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will own the systems engineering strategy and implementation for Q-CTRL’s quantum navigation products. This includes defining the systems role in the development of new quantum sensor prototypes and products. You will contribute to the delivery of software-ruggedised quantum gravimeters, accelerometers, and magnetometers for GPS-denied navigation applications.
Your responsibilities will include establishing and leading the Systems Engineering team, ensuring that complex hardware and software subsystems operate together as a reliable, deployable system. You will work on defining the engineering standards and processes that underpin product development, ensuring that systems meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets.
You will also be involved in hands-on technical leadership, overseeing system planning and execution while mentoring your team. Your role will require you to validate complete systems in both lab and field environments, ensuring that the products meet the high standards expected in mission-critical applications.
What we offer
At Q-CTRL, you will be part of a team that transforms quantum research into deployable technologies. We value strong engineering fundamentals and a collaborative spirit. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that addresses real-world problems, contributing to the advancement of quantum sensing technologies. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of diverse backgrounds to drive innovation.
