Who you are
You are an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in R&D environments, particularly in aerospace or other mission-critical industries. You possess strong engineering fundamentals and a product mindset, allowing you to tackle the hardest engineering problems in quantum sensing today. You are driven to solve complex challenges and have a passion for building technology that delivers real-world capabilities. You understand the importance of collaboration and can work closely with engineers and scientists to manage the integration of subsystems spanning electronics, optics, mechanics, and software.
You have a solid background in systems engineering methods and are adept at transforming cutting-edge scientific concepts into field-ready technology. Your technical leadership skills enable you to oversee the system design, integration, and validation lifecycle, ensuring that complex hardware and software subsystems operate together as a reliable, deployable system. You are comfortable working in both lab and field environments, validating complete systems to ensure they meet the required specifications.
Desirable
While a background in quantum is not necessary, familiarity with quantum technologies and their applications would be beneficial. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies as the field evolves. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will enhance collaboration and drive project success.
What you'll do
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Q-CTRL, you will play a pivotal role in the development of new quantum sensor prototypes and products. You will lead the technical efforts in designing, integrating, and validating quantum sensors that support key products, including solutions for GPS-denied navigation. Your responsibilities will include applying structured systems engineering methods to ensure that all components work seamlessly together. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and scientists, managing the integration of various subsystems and ensuring that they meet performance and reliability standards.
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of system design, from initial concept through to deployment.
