Overview

Rain is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to consolidate data sources and create reliable datasets that drive decision-making across the company. You'll work with SQL and Python to ensure data accessibility for various teams. This position requires strong analytical skills and experience in data modeling.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a related field — you've successfully consolidated fragmented data sources and created clean, reusable datasets that empower teams to make informed decisions. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to manipulate and analyze data efficiently, ensuring accuracy and reliability in reporting.

You are proficient in data visualization tools like Tableau and Looker — you understand how to present complex data in a way that is accessible and actionable for stakeholders. Your experience with cloud data warehouses, particularly BigQuery, enables you to manage large datasets effectively and optimize performance.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail — you thrive in environments where you can explore data challenges and develop innovative solutions. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable asset in cross-functional collaborations.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment — you adapt quickly to changing priorities and are eager to take on new challenges as the company scales. Your passion for data and its potential to drive business outcomes motivates you to continuously improve processes and methodologies.

Desirable

Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks is a plus — you understand the importance of maintaining data integrity and compliance in analytics processes. Familiarity with machine learning concepts can also enhance your contributions to the team as you help shape data-driven strategies.

What you'll do

As the first dedicated Analytics Engineer at Rain, you will play a crucial role in shaping the data landscape of the company. You will consolidate various data sources into a single, reliable framework that supports decision-making across Product, Business Development, Customer Success, Compliance, and Executive teams. Your work will ensure that data is accessible and self-serve, empowering teams to leverage insights effectively.

You will design and implement data models that facilitate reporting and analysis — your expertise will help create trusted datasets that drive strategic initiatives. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring that the analytics infrastructure meets the evolving needs of the business.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and optimizing existing data pipelines — your attention to detail will help identify areas for improvement and implement best practices in data management. As you work with various teams, you will provide training and support to ensure that all users can effectively utilize the data tools at their disposal.

What we offer

At Rain, we foster an open and flat structure that encourages team members to explore ideas and impact the company's roadmap. You will have the opportunity to grow into a role that aligns with your career goals while contributing to a mission that shapes a borderless financial future. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including wellness spending options and team summits that strengthen relationships and build a common destiny.

Join us in making the next generation of payments possible across the globe — your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions to fintechs, neobanks, and institutions. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement; curiosity and a growth mindset are just as important to us.
