Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in backend development, particularly with middleware and DICOM standards — you've successfully built and maintained systems that integrate complex medical imaging workflows. Your deep understanding of REST APIs allows you to create efficient and scalable services that enhance user experience and system performance.
You possess strong programming skills in Java and are familiar with various frameworks and tools that support backend development — your experience includes working with cloud-based solutions and ensuring high availability and reliability of services. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and product managers, to deliver impactful solutions in the healthcare sector.
Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you thrive in environments where you can leverage your technical expertise to improve patient outcomes — you understand the importance of clinical validation and are committed to delivering high-quality software that meets rigorous standards.
You are a proactive communicator who enjoys sharing knowledge and mentoring junior engineers — you believe in fostering a collaborative team environment where everyone can contribute to the success of the project. Your passion for technology and healthcare drives you to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and imaging technologies.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning concepts — you are eager to explore how AI can further enhance clinical workflows and decision-making processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services for the Rapid Enterprise™ Platform — your work will directly impact how hospitals utilize AI for clinical decision-making. You will design and implement middleware solutions that facilitate seamless integration of DICOM standards into our platform, ensuring that imaging data is processed efficiently and accurately.
You will collaborate closely with product managers and clinical experts to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements — your ability to analyze complex problems and propose effective solutions will be crucial. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the system, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
Your role will also involve monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise — you will be expected to implement improvements based on user feedback and performance metrics. As a senior engineer, you will mentor junior team members, helping them grow their skills and understanding of backend development and DICOM standards.
What we offer
At RapidAI, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to improving healthcare through technology — we offer a collaborative work environment where innovation is encouraged.
